Activities

Located amongst the mountains of the Snowdonia National Park, gives opportunity to summit a mountain via footpath or challenging Scramble. Participants will be challenged and inspired to fully appreciate the stunning scenery North Wales has to offer.

Rock climbing and bouldering can take place in a variety of locations including mountain crags and the stunning sea cliffs. Rock climbing involves making progress up a cliff face using natural holds whilst your team help by controlling your safety rope and offering words of advice. You will experience how to safely put on a harness and belay your team mates; and where possible abseil from height. There may also be the opportunity of visiting an indoor climbing wall which is located within a 20 minute drive from the centre.

Canoeing creates an opportunity to embark on a journey and work as a team; these large stable boats can be paddled solo, tandem or as a large raft. Learn the skills to steer your craft and as a vessel in which to play games and move across the water in style. Canoes are generally used in the lake environment but occasionally on the river.

Kayaking is always popular with visitors to the centre. Kayaking requires a basic skill level which will be coached as part of the session. KMC also has a fleet of Sit on Top Kayaks which can also be used for journeying and playing games. Kayaking can take place on lakes, rivers and the sea from simple excursions to day long journeys

Gorge walking offers an opportunity to explore the wild and rugged terrain of a riverbed located in a steep sided gorge. You can expect to climb and scramble your way up to It usually involves some use of the rope and getting wet! There may even be the opportunity of scrambling up to and behind a waterfall. This activity usually takes place on the stunning coast of Anglesey. You will traverse and scramble across the rocks, just above the sea. Ropes can be used in the form of a Tyrolean Traverse to complete any island hopping from the mainland, as well as providing a clip line should it be required. You do not have to get wet but there is often the opportunity to jump into the sea!

Orienteering is an exciting outdoor adventure sport which comprises of walking or running whilst navigating around a course using a detailed map and sometimes a compass. There are many venues for this activity; KMC has its own courses onsite, along with further courses located at the adjacent lake. The aim is to navigate to points indicated on the map and record any information found.

KMC grounds offer a range of team tasks for visiting groups. Staff can run some of them as self-led evening activities
